User Reviews about Tamron AF 18-250mm F 3.5-6.3 Di-II LD Aspherical (IF) Macro Zoom Lens with Built In Motor for Nikon DSLR
Awesome Lens and I would strongly recommend for any one on the lookout for just One Lens (permanently mounted) on your Nikon DSLR. No wonder why many users gave it a 5 star. -- Excellent Value for Money
For the Money this is the best investment I have made for some time for my Nikon D70
I would have liked to buy an antivibration lens, and was looking at a Nikor 18-200mm VR for $600 plus, but for the money this lens works just fine, I did find when at full zoom it could not focus in on subject with no contrast, but I could compensate by moving it slightly in on a subject with some contrast then move it back. This did the trick and something I can live with. The construction is solid and the size and weight are both impressive. It does focus well and fast enough for me. The internal motor does chirp slightly but that is the nature of this lens motor, and it is OK for me, as long as it works. The 6 year warrantee helps. I have been using a Nikor 18-70mm lens, and a Nikor 28-200mm lens. Both to do what this lens does. The 28-200mm lens weighs about 1.8 pounds where as this lens only weighs 15.8 onces. A note, I am no professional, far from it. I am a recreational user. I use this camera when traveling, on vacation and at family functions, but found it to make life easier, and feel to date it will do exactly what I want. Maybe some day I will go for the Tamsron 18-270 anti vibration lens, but again for the $299.00 I spent on this lens, well worth it. -- For the money I love it
I bought this lens right before I left for an African camera safari. It proved to be the perfect lens for the trip.
It was easy to use, the automatic focus was fast, and the zoom was the right amount for my needs. Pictures were clear
even with off-hand jiggle. I used it on a D40X Nikon. -- Lens Review of Tamron AF 18-250mm
